Expanding CVT Leadership: Welcoming our Second Chapter Liaison

The Chapter is pleased to announce the addition of a second CVT Liaison, Karen Jean “KJ” Byrd PA-C, CCK, a seasoned advanced practice provider with more than nine years of cardiovascular experience and a proven commitment to elevating team-based care. In her role as Lead APP for cardiology services at Roper St. Francis Hospital, she has overseen clinical operations across cardiology, vascular, and electrophysiology teams while supporting the onboarding, training, and development of both physicians and APPs. Her leadership has strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration and enhanced the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care. She also serves as an ambassador and speaker for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, where she advocates for heart-disease awareness and prevention within both professional and community settings.

With her extensive clinical background, leadership experience, and commitment to professional growth, she is excited to support South Carolina Chapter ACC CVT members and contribute meaningfully to the continued advancement of high-performing cardiovascular teams.
