Election to membership in the ACC is based on training, specialty board certification, scientific and professional accomplishments and duration of active participation in a cardiovascular related field. Members are expected to conform to high moral standards. At least 75% of a potential members' professional activities must be devoted to the field of cardiovascular disease. Chapters provide ACC members with the opportunity to discuss local and regional concerns and participate at a leadership level in the resolution of issues that directly affect them. Participation in local chapters is the ladder to future participation and leadership opportunities at the national level. To become a chapter member, membership in ACC is required. Sonographers, electrophysiology specialists, invasive specialists and vascular specialists certified by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)and two or more years of experience are welcome to apply.
